We offer a range of traditional Chinese healing modalities that have been practiced in China for thousands of years. These modalities have taken care of people for centuries and have stood the test of time. Although nowadays, we hear disease names that were never heard of thousands of years ago, but the principles to treat diseases have remained unchanged: to balance the yin and yang, to drain where there is excess and tonify where there is deficiency. These traditional healing modalities simply activate your body's own healing mechanism so you can heal yourself.
AcupunctureThis involves insertion of needles into specific acupuncture points which are situated along body meridians. There are all together 365 acupuncture points in the body, twelve primary meridians and a host of other smaller meridians throughout the body. Pain is usually due to blockage or stagnation of meridians and long-term stagnation can lead to chronic diseases. Acupuncture is effective for pain-relief as well as a wide-range of ailments. It is a healing method that is recognized by the World Health Organization as an effective form of treatment. |
Cupping Therapy
Suction is created on the skin using special cups; this mobilizes blood flow and removes stagnation to promote healing and helps to alleviate pain. This form of healing was also practiced by many ancient cultures in Egypt, Greece, Europe and even the Americas. Cupping is still practiced in many countries today. |
Herbal GranulesHigh quality herbal granules are available to treat a variety of conditions. Majority of the herbal formulas stocked are based on ancient Chinese classical herbal formulas. These classical formulas were carefully put together by the ancient classical herbalists according to the temperature and flavor of herbs as well as the meridians the herbs enter. These formulas were carefully thought out to ensure that they were well-balanced and had virtually none or minimal side-effects. These herbal formulas have been widely used to treat many modern diseases. |
Tui Na MassageTui Na massage is a type of bodywork that is based on the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Tui means “to push” and na means “to grab". It involves a number of massage techniques such as gliding, kneading, rocking, pulling, friction, and rolling. The practitioner works on the meridians throughout the body as well as acupuncture points to balance the energy (qi) and to unblock channels. It can be used to either encourage overall wellness or to treat specific pain conditions. This massage is practiced on fully clothed clients. Loose, comfortable clothing is recommended.
